The New Shul Fair Share Membership Dues for 2011-2012
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
TO CALCULATE DUES, use your annual household GROSS (PRE-TAX) income on your 2010 income tax return. In A 2-adult household, use the COMBINED HOUSEHOLD INCOME OF BOTH ADULTS.
To pay dues, mail a check to The New Shul at 505 8th Ave, Suite 1212, New York, NY 10018 or click the pay online button on the left of this page. Note: When you pay by credit card, 2.9% goes to the credit card company. Please consider tacking on something extra to cover the loss to the shul (almost $15 on $500, $45 on $1,500, and $75 on $2,500). THANKS!
New members: Along with your dues, please send in your membership form.
High Holy Day seating is provided for all members and their children. Additional seats for family or friends may be purchased.
Information on our religious school program and fees, and school enrollment forms, can be found on our learning page.
In order for The New Shul to serve the needs of our community, we must all take personal and financial responsibility for creating and sustaining its programs and activities. The cost of operations for the year 2010-11 was approximately $3,000 per household. Membership dues and religious school fees covered only about 55% of those expenses with the balance coming from contributions, the Chai Line Fund, and special events.
The dues schedule below is based on a sliding scale related to annual household gross (pre-tax) income for calendar 2010. As an example, if you are a 2-adult household and your combined 2010 household gross income was $90,000, your dues are $1,200. Children under the age of 18 are included in their parents' membership.
The dues schedule is not intended to be discretionary. We expect all members to assess dues accurately and conscientiously by basing household income on adjusted gross income as it appears on your 2010 income tax return. If you cannot afford the cost of membership, please request special consideration for financial hardship. We are dedicated to working out a comfortable arrangement so that no one will be excluded from membership for financial reasons.
